IMD/ACPR Measurements
Bluetec IMD/ACPR application software with Bluetec Tuners can provide fast, accurate measurements of IMD/ACPR.
IMD is a measure of the device’s non-linearity. When two signals are simultaneously present, device’s non-linearity can
cause frequency mixing. Odd order mixing results in a pair of mixing signals which straddle the original pair and are
displaced by the separation between the two frequencies.
ACPR (Adjacent Channel Power Ratio) usually refers to the “spill-over” of a signal into the adjacent or next adjacent
communication channel due to digital modulation typically. Knowledge of the magnitude of these products and other
related parameters, as well as the termination conditions for minimizing or maximizing them, can be of significant help
to the amplifier and system designer.
A typical measurement setup is as follows.
